These Akai Reel to Reels are wonderful and this particular one is a keeper. This was fully serviced by David of Reel to Reel Europe, with his help I was able to have the whole unit overhauled and checked.

Absolutely everything was done to make this piece reliable, sound great and last another 50 years!

Main issues with these are the Relays and the System control board, once sorted it will keep those tapes playing.

Literally this thing is show piece and sits proudly in my main system, it works flawlessly and sounds amazing.
